About me

I started Bluefinch Boutique in late 2011 after being made redundant from my publishing job in Liverpool.  I loved my job and the people I worked with but short of moving to London, I knew I'd really struggle to find another job in publishing.  I'd always thought about starting my own business but it was one of those things I just never got round to.  Stressful and traumatic as redundancy was, it gave me the push to really focus on what I wanted to do.

I'd been making jewellery and accessories since I was little and often gave my friends and family my handmade creations as presents.  I'd had a taste of running an online store when I briefly ran an ebay shop a few years back selling handmade jewellery, vintage clothes and accessories.  I had to close that shop due to work commitments but always remembered how much I'd loved working for myself, albeit only part-time and on a very small scale.  Fast-forward a few years and here I am, self-employed and working pretty much full-time (apart from the odd afternoon I give myself off to watch Friends repeats or cheesy teen movies) building up my business.

I make most of the jewellery and accessories in Bluefinch Boutique from my cosy little office-cum-studio but I also stock some pieces from other suppliers that catch my eye!  I also sell some lovely homewares and gifts with the focus on kitsch and vintage style.

I also blog at Sunday Girl so please pop over and say hello there too :-)

Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to hear from you if you have any comments or questions!
